Toyo Celebrates New Wins in Off-Road Racing

Alan Ampudia and Toyo Tires celebrate their victory in the 2024 World Championship of Trophy Truck Racing (WTTC). Ampudia performed well throughout the season and finished it in fourth place in the overall standings in the legendary Baja 1000 race. In 2023, Toyo also celebrated a championship win, thanks to Bryce Menzies.

In 2024, Gustavo Vildosola Sr. brought Toyo their third consecutive championship title in the Trophy Truck Legends series, which features drivers over 50 years old, and the 71-year-old Mexican now has an impressive streak of 12 consecutive wins.

Ampudia drove a Ford Raptor in the 2024 season and started the year with a historic win at the San Felipe 240, winning the race in record time. In the Baja 1000, which is the culmination of the season, the Toyo-backed driver maintained a competitive pace and executed a brilliant racing strategy, despite difficult conditions, moving up four positions and posting an official time of 17 hours, 12 minutes, and 58 seconds. "This season we set new records and celebrated important victories, which allowed us to become the best in the 2024 World Championship!" Ampudia said. "To a huge extent, this is thanks to Toyo tires, and now we're preparing for new successes in the 2025 season."

Vildosola Sr. won all four races in his class and finished third overall in the Baja 1000. "12 consecutive wins and a new title. It's been incredible," he noted. "At some point, the rain reduced visibility during the race, but the Toyo Open Country M/TR tires provided us with the necessary traction to win. I couldn't have done it without our team's flawless work."

Stan Chen, Senior Manager of Motorsports for Toyo's US division, congratulated the drivers on their victories and added that "the Toyo team had an incredible title, getting two more titles. This means we're winning the Trophy Truck Championship for the second year in a row, and in the Trophy Truck Legends class since 2022."

Toyo partners have won the Baja 1000 five times, the Baja 400 four times, the Baja 500 five times, and the San Felipe 250 three times.
