Top 20 largest tire manufacturers in the world — 2025
Tyres & Accessories edition has published a rating of the world's largest tire manufacturers for 2024. According to analysts' data, there have been no changes in the top ten, and Michelin again takes the first place, which became the leader of the global tire market in 2020, overtaking Bridgestone.
The Japanese manufacturer is still in second place, and in the future, the situation may be affected by the fact that at the end of last year, Michelin sold Ceat, an Indian manufacturer of agricultural tires and tracks.
The Big Three of the tire industry also includes Goodyear, followed by Continental, Pirelli, and Sumitomo, whose positions may also change next year. This is due to the fact that Goodyear sold the rights to the Dunlop brand to Sumitomo, and its OTR tire business to Yokohama. As a result, on the one hand, the turnover of the American company will decrease, which will bring Continental closer to the top 3, and on the other hand, the revenue of the two Japanese manufacturers will increase, and Sumitomo will have the opportunity to overtake Pirelli.
The top ten also includes Hankook, Yokohama, ZC Rubber, and Sailun, and Toyo is again in 11th place. Next year, an improvement in Yokohama's position can be expected, which bought not only Goodyear's OTR business but also the tire division of Trelleborg. At the same time, ZC Rubber has recently gone public and announced that it has planned new investments in its development.
MRF Tyres is in 12th place, which debuted in the rating last year and has risen three positions this year, overtaking Apollo Tyres and gaining the status of the largest tire manufacturer in India. Slightly lower is Kumho Tire, which has improved its position by one line and has big plans for development in Europe, including the construction of its own plant. At the same time, a major fire occurred at the plant in Gwangju (South Korea), which will affect the company's performance.
Linglong Tire took 14th place (+3 compared to last year), which is currently the only Chinese tire company with production in Europe, which has allowed it to significantly improve its results recently. At the same time, Linglong's advantage over other Chinese manufacturers may increase further if the European Commission, following the recently initiated anti-dumping investigation, imposes new duties on Chinese tires for passenger and light commercial vehicles.
Giti Tire is in 15th place, which has risen one position, and Apollo Tyres is in 16th place, having fallen three positions. Cheng Shin/Maxxis follows, which has risen five positions at once.
The top twenty largest global tire manufacturers are completed by Nexen, Titan International, and JK Tyre, with the first company retaining its position in the rating, and the other two swapping places.
