Tengri Tyres is approaching the release of its millionth tire

The Tengri Tyres plant, a joint venture between Tatneft and Allur, located in the city of Saran, Karaganda region of Kazakhstan, and launched last July, plans to produce its millionth tire by the end of the year, according to Maxim Belyavsky, Deputy Director for Production and Technical Support, whose words are quoted by Kursiv.

According to Belyavsky, in January-June 2025, the plant produced 257,400 tires, and since the start of production, 450,000 tires have been produced. Earlier, it was reported that the project capacity of Tengri is 3 million passenger and 500,000 truck tires, and the planned production capacity was expected to be reached by 2027. Belyavsky noted that "an expansion of the plant is planned for 2028 to 7 million tires," which will require new investments.

Currently, Tengri is capable of producing tires under the Attar brand with diameters from 15 to 17 inches, and by the end of this year, it plans to start producing tires in sizes 14-22 inches. The number of tire sizes is expected to more than double, from 46 to 105, which is expected to increase the company's revenue.

"The largest tires are more profitable - you can even look at the price. You can even orient yourself by weight - how much a small-diameter tire weighs and a large-diameter tire weighs," Belyavsky noted, adding that currently, Tengri's task is to push Chinese brands out of the Kazakh market.

A Tengri representative did not specify what share the company currently occupies in the Kazakh market but said that about a third of the tires are already being exported to Russia and Belarus.

"The project capacity is 3.5 million tires per year. The production volume directly depends on the range of products that the plant has mastered, and the demand for tires depends on the product line, that is, the more tires we produce, the more demand we will have," Belyavsky said.
