Yokohama tires are approved for Stelato S9

Yokohama Rubber has begun supplying tires for the original equipment of the Stelato S9 — a new electric sedan developed jointly by China's leading telecommunications equipment manufacturer Huawei and Beijing Automotive Group (BAIC Group) and introduced to the Chinese market in August 2024.

The Stelato S9 is equipped with summer tires Yokohama ADVAN Sport EV of the Ultra-High Performance class, created based on the ADVAN Sport V107 model and optimized for use on electric vehicles. The special composition of the rubber mixture reduces rolling resistance, which increases the range of electric cars, and the layer of polyurethane foam inside the tire (SilentFoam technology) reduces noise and improves comfort.

The sidewalls of the tires feature a special "E+" marking, confirming that they are optimally suited for electric vehicles. The tires are supplied in the size 245/45 R20.

Yokohama is currently implementing its medium-term development plan YX2026, aimed at increasing sales of high-value-added products. As part of this strategy, Yokohama, in particular, is striving to increase supplies of tires from the flagship ADVAN line for equipping new cars, and in China, in the OE segment, is working to expand partnerships with local vehicle manufacturers on new energy sources, such as electric vehicles.
