The Governor of the Rostov Region, Yuri Slyusar, during a meeting with the state company "Avtostrada", discussed the situation on the M-4 "Don" highway, where due to a strong snowfall, there were car accidents and multi-kilometer traffic jams.

As noted by Slyusar in his Telegram channel, "the snowfall revealed problems that require a systematic approach. Due to difficult weather conditions, multi-ton trucks on summer tires stood in multi-kilometer traffic jams".

In his opinion, it is necessary to establish fines for the use of off-season tires on trucks, "having developed a legislative initiative and brought it to the federal level".

"I propose to involve the parliamentary corps in this work. We will synchronize the proposals with the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the traffic police. The management of "Avtostrada" confirmed their interest in this initiative", - added the governor.

Currently, in Russia, there is a fine for operating summer tires in winter on passenger cars and small-tonnage trucks with a carrying capacity of less than 3.5 tons.
