Prometeon to launch new energy-efficient tire for buses
Prometeon Tyre Group (PTG) will participate in the IAA Transportation exhibition in Hannover (Germany) and will present the new bus tire Prometeon C02 Coach, as well as talk about its package of solutions for fleet management.
“We are very pleased to participate in IAA Transportation, where we will have the opportunity to present our latest innovative products and services, — said Sabina Oriani, head of sales and marketing at PTG. — At the exhibition, we will show Prometeon C02 Coach, our first tire with an “A” rating for rolling resistance [according to the European classification], demonstrating our commitment to sustainability. We will also introduce the new SuperFleet solution, designed to increase the efficiency of tire operation in fleets throughout their entire life cycle”.

The company adds that (according to the VECTO system) the new C02 Coach tires are able to reduce fuel consumption by 0.9 l/100 km compared to tires of the previous generation, and in Europe for a fleet of 50 vehicles with an annual mileage of 130,000 km this will mean a cost savings of 102,000 euros per year. In addition, every year CO2 emissions will be reduced by 157 tons.
The new tires are equipped with radio frequency identification (RFID) tags, and 80% of eco-friendly materials (recycled and renewable) are used in their production. In addition, taking into account the increased weight of new hybrid and electric buses, the load index has been increased to 156/150 (speed index — M).

The new tires are scheduled to enter the market in the second half of 2025, and will be available in two versions: the all-position C02 Coach Multiaxle and the C02 Coach Drive for the drive axle. Both options will be offered in the size 295/80 R22.5.
The IAA Transportation exhibition will take place from September 17 to 22.
