Prometeon equips MMT's new Dakar truck with tyres

Prometeon Tyre Group (PTG) will supply tyres for the new Dakar racing truck developed by the Czech company MM Technology (MMT), founded by Martin Macík Jr., a two-time winner of the famous rally marathon who has also triumphed in other major competitions such as Baja Aragón and Rally Morocco. 

PTG is the exclusive tyre supplier for all rally trucks assembled at the factory in Sedlčany, and the new model, named MMT EVO5, has been developed using the experience and knowledge gained by the MMT factory team and the company's customers during this year's Dakar Rally. In particular, chassis components and the cabin structure have been reinforced, and the damper configuration has been revised. 

MMT also actively participates in the development of Prometeon rally tyres, from the Prometeon S02 Pista and S02 Rally to the S02 Rally Evo, the company's latest model for motorsport. In Dakar 2026, eight trucks from MMT took part, all eight reached the finish, and six placed within the top ten. Tyres from Prometeon were used by two teams — MM Technology Factory Team led by Macík Jr. and ItalTrans Racing Team — both of which finished in the top 9, confirming "the reliability, durability, and high grip performance of Prometeon tyres under the toughest rally conditions". 

Preparations for upcoming rally raids are currently underway, and extensive testing has recently been completed in the Tunisian desert, where additional data was collected to further improve both the tyres and the new truck.
