New high-comfort Dunlop tires are presented

Sumitomo Rubber Industries has introduced new summer tires Dunlop Sport Maxx Lux, which were designed to improve handling and reduce noise levels, making them fall into the "comfort" category.

The tires are made using Max Driveability Technology and feature an increased contact area (the central part of the tread is flatter compared to previous generation tires) with the road surface. As a result, according to Sumitomo, all sections of the tread work more efficiently, handling is improved, and smaller steering angles are required during maneuvers.

The Silent Wave technology has also been applied, which reduces noise in the range audible to the human ear. The tread pattern is designed so that the blocks continuously contact the road, reducing the noise generated during their impact on the road surface. Additionally, special double protrusions are located in the main grooves, which reduce the noise created when air flows through the drainage channels, and an increased layer of sound-absorbing sponge (Silent Core technology) suppresses the noise associated with air vibration inside the tire itself. The manufacturer notes that compared to Dunlop Veuro VE304 tires, the noise caused by air passing through the grooves has been reduced by 14.9%, and that caused by vibrations during rolling, by 8.8%.

Since the electric vehicle segment continues to evolve, the tires have received a new EV Suitable marking, confirming that they were designed for use not only on vehicles with internal combustion engines but also on electric cars.

In creating the tires, technologies initially developed during the creation of special tires for electric vehicles, such as Falken e.Ziex and Dunlop e.Sport Maxx, were used, and they meet the increased requirements for rolling resistance, load capacity, wear resistance, noise, and traction on wet surfaces.

Dunlop Sport Maxx Lux will be released on the Japanese market in February 2025 and will be offered in 72 sizes from 195/60 R17 to 275/35 R21.
