A new Yokohama tire for ATVs has been introduced

One of the recent trends in the generally very conservative market of off-road tires is that manufacturers have started releasing versions of their models specifically designed for ATVs. This niche already includes, for example, BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM3 UTV and Toyo Open Country SxS, and now they are joined by the new Geolandar M/T G003 SxS tire from the Japanese Yokohama.

"The G003 SxS is designed to be maximally reliable and inspire confidence in off-road enthusiasts," said Drew Dayton, senior product planning manager for Yokohama's consumer tire division in the US. "The new tire is designed for the most popular ATV models today and features the same durability, cut and chip resistance, and high traction level as its 'older sister', the original Geolandar M/T G003."

The new tires are made using the Geo-Shield technology and feature multi-layer sidewalls, while the wide nylon layer and high sidewall turn-up are designed to provide a balance between high traction and improved damage resistance. Additionally, the extra elements on the sidewalls provide impact protection, and the optimized tread pattern voids improve traction on loose soil, gravel, and mud.

Mud and stone ejectors are placed between the tread blocks, helping the tires to self-clean and stabilize traction in difficult conditions, while the special rubber compound has improved resistance to cuts and chips and extended the tire's lifespan.

The Geolandar M/T G003 SxS has entered the US market in three sizes: 32X9.50R15, 33X9.50R15, and 37X11.50R17.
