Details have emerged about the new all-season Vredestein tires

New all-season tires Vredestein Quatrac Pro 2 of the UHP class will become the first model in its segment to receive the highest rating A for traction on wet pavement and the level of external noise according to the European marking system in all sizes, which was made possible, among other things, thanks to the optimized tread pattern, reports Apollo Tyres.

The design of the new "all-season" tires includes four large longitudinal grooves in all sizes, which, in combination with zigzag channels, reduce the risk of aquaplaning, shorten the braking distance on wet roads, and generally increase the level of safety in difficult weather conditions. Apollo emphasizes that the developers were able to strengthen traction in the rain without compromising acoustic comfort, while the 3PMSF marking confirms that the tires also work effectively on snowy surfaces.

In the shoulder areas, there are closing 3D-lamellas with a zigzag shape in both vertical and horizontal cross-section, which allows them to limit the movement of blocks. Thanks to this, the tires retain structural stability under load, for example, when cornering at high speeds, and also provide the elasticity necessary for traction on snow. The pattern also features a continuous central rib, which is rare in tires of this category and improves handling sensitivity on dry pavement, while also shortening the braking distance in any weather.

"The Quatrac Pro 2 tread pattern embodies a new approach to the development of all-season tires," said Daniele Lorenzetti, Technical Director of Apollo. "By combining the characteristics typically found in summer UHP tires with elements designed to improve traction on wet roads and in winter conditions, we have created a tire that provides fast braking and confident handling throughout the year."

The new Vredestein tires were designed in Europe, and production will be carried out at a plant in Hungary.
