After Pirelli introduced the Scorpion (S3) tire for crossovers and SUVs at the beginning of the year, the company continued to update its summer lineup by adding a new model for passenger car owners, called the Pirelli Powergy 2.

The novelty replaces the Powergy tire, released in 2021, and, as the manufacturer claims, is designed primarily for everyday use on urban streets, but also suitable for occasional trips out of town. The target audience includes those who need a "practical and versatile summer tire". Compared to the previous generation of tires, the durability has been improved, and the fact that the Powergy 2 helps save fuel is confirmed by the B rating for rolling resistance, which the tire received in all sizes for the secondary market that have gone on sale.

To increase the resource, the developers increased the depth of the grooves and lamellas, and Pirelli also emphasizes that the pattern is optimized to maintain the tire's characteristics throughout its lifespan. Additionally, the wide lamellas in the central zone reduce the risk of aquaplaning, and their shape has been redesigned for uniform stiffness of the tread, which reduces uneven wear. Finally, the shoulder areas feature lamellas with a special 3D design that consistently contact the road surface, resulting in reduced noise.

Pirelli Powergy 2 tires were introduced to the market in 55 sizes, ranging from 195/55 R16 to 255/35 R20, and the lineup also includes winter Powergy Winter and all-season Powergy All Season SF tires.
