Petlas releases new tires for underground mining operations

Turkish Petlas has expanded its range of tires for special equipment, adding a new model Petlas PtxMD51, designed specifically for loaders and dump trucks used in underground mining. 

The new tire has an L5 class tread pattern with increased groove depth, as well as a radial metal cord construction and is designed for use in extremely harsh conditions. The tread pattern includes a solid central zone that increases tire strength, while the shoulder grooves increase traction while maintaining the necessary stability, and the company says that such a balanced design will allow the PtxMD51 to operate stably in underground mines, where the reliability of equipment and its components is critical.

The rubber compound was developed with a focus on increasing cut resistance, while the reinforced internal structure allows the tires to withstand impacts and high loads in an aggressive operating environment.

"By releasing the PtxMD51, we continue to strengthen our product line and offer a solution for a high-risk application area where reliability, safety, and cost-effectiveness remain key priorities," noted Petlas. 

The tires are available in sizes 9.00R20 and 12.00R20.
