The first quarry tire plant in Russia will be launched by the end of 2028

The first plant in Russia for the production of large and super-large tires for quarry equipment is scheduled to be launched in Omsk by the end of 2028, said Omsk Region Governor Vitaly Khotsenko, whose words are quoted by TASS.

Plans to build the plant in the "Avangard" SEZ were announced last year, and at that time the Russian Ministry of Economic Development reported that the enterprise was to be launched in the first quarter of 2028. The planned investment amount has also changed, increasing from 41.5 to 60 billion rubles.

"This is a large project with 60 billion rubles in investments. These are large and super-large tires for quarry dump trucks, for BelAZ, KAMAZ, Caterpillar, etc. We are implementing this project, and by the end of 2028, it should come to life," Khotsenko said at the plenary session of the VI International Scientific and Practical Conference on the implementation of technological projects in the chemical industry.

According to the governor, the plant will produce around 10.5 thousand tires per year. "This is the formation of new competencies in our country. Even in Soviet times, we only had one such enterprise - "Belshina" on the territory of the Republic of Belarus, and it is still located there," he noted.

Earlier, the Chinese company Haian Rubber Group announced plans to build a plant for super-large tires in the Omsk Region, and apparently, this is the same project.
