The world's first Mickey Thompson retail store opened in Shanghai
Owned by Goodyear, the Mickey Thompson company, known for its off-road tires, has announced the official opening of its first retail store, located in Shanghai. The brand entered the Chinese market in September last year, starting sales of four off-road tire models from the Baja line, and the store opening is expected to help the brand continue to expand its presence in the region.
As noted by Nat Madarang, President of Goodyear in the Asia-Pacific region, the company aims to take a leading position in the segments of tires for luxury, electric, and off-road vehicles in the local market, and the opening of the first Mickey Thompson retail store is another significant step towards achieving this goal.
"Goodyear and Mickey Thompson have a very long history and strong positions in the off-road tire market, and we are pleased to use our retail network to offer off-road enthusiasts in the Asia-Pacific region products and services of the highest level," he added.
Justin Folley, General Manager of Goodyear's Greater China division, said that in recent years, the off-road vehicle market in China has been developing rapidly, and there are more and more enthusiasts who want to conquer off-road terrain, who "want to explore uncharted territories, whether it's deserts or high-altitude areas". "In the wide range of off-road tires from Goodyear, there are options for both those who drive crossovers in the city and for off-road fans," he emphasized.
The first products to be released in the Chinese market were the Mickey Thompson Baja Legend EXP and Baja Boss A/T all-terrain tires, as well as the Baja Legend MTZ and Baja Boss M/T mud tires.
