The first tires to exceed 100 km/h

La Jamais Contente, which literally translates to "The Never Satisfied". Today, we will tell you why this car was considered a technological breakthrough 120 years ago.

Just think about it! This car was the first to reach a speed of 105.88 km/h, breaking the psychological barrier of 100 km/h. Moreover, it was not just a car, but an electrically powered one. Given the current interest in electric vehicles, it can be said - "What's new is what's old".

The pilot was a Belgian named Camille Jenatzy. He is also a rather notable figure in this story. He set this record on his fifth attempt, trying to draw attention to his company, which was competing for contracts to manufacture electric carriages in France.

Notably, Camille used an innovative aluminum body in the shape of a bullet, without considering the high seating position of the pilot and the open chassis. The Michelin tires contributed to the speed record, and the company has since supported world speed records on other cars.
