All-season tires may be considered an aggravating circumstance in an accident

The use of non-seasonal tires may be considered an aggravating circumstance in the event of a traffic accident. This is reported by TASS, citing the words of the First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Transport and Transport Infrastructure Development, Pavel Fedyaev.

"The rules apply to all vehicles in categories M1 and N1 (passenger cars and light trucks). Winter tires must be installed on all wheels. In the event of an accident, this fact may be considered an aggravating circumstance, as it directly affects handling and braking distance," he said.

The deputy also noted that winter tires are mandatory in December, January, and February, but regional authorities may extend their use period.
