New Pirelli sports tires enter the secondary market
The Pirelli P Zero R and P Zero Trofeo RS sports tires, previously only available as original equipment for various vehicles, have now been released on the aftermarket, the company's press service reported.
Both tires were developed in collaboration with luxury vehicle manufacturers and have already been homologated for over 60 models, from European sports and supercars to American muscle cars. The P Zero R recently won a test by Tyre Reviews due to its excellent performance on dry and wet surfaces.
As the flagship line of Pirelli, these tires are created using the most advanced technologies of the Italian brand. The P Zero Trofeo RS is designed for use on racing tracks but is also legal for public roads, while the P Zero R is a more versatile tire, better suited for everyday use, including reduced noise.
The P Zero R is made from new-generation rubber compounds designed to provide high grip on various surfaces, with particular attention paid to improving performance on wet asphalt. In the Tyre Reviews test, the tires excelled in handling in all conditions, and their braking distance on dry surfaces was the shortest among the participants (in wet track braking tests, Pirelli was among the leaders).
"These tires give the driver confidence even in extreme situations," said Jonathan Benson, founder of Tyre Reviews.
In turn, the semi-slick P Zero Trofeo RS is designed to maximize grip on dry surfaces and maintain it at a high level for a long time, even in the most challenging conditions, allowing drivers to achieve good results over many laps. Since its premiere, these tires have helped set records for vehicles in several categories on the "Nürburgring", one of the most challenging racing tracks in the world.
Both models were created using a driving simulator installed at Pirelli's scientific and technical center in Milan, which allows for virtual development of new products. The tires in sizes for the aftermarket are manufactured using a robotic production system, MIRS (Modular Integrated Robot System), at the factories in Settimo Torinese (Italy) and Rome (Georgia, USA).
