On Cordiant tires, a new national record was set
During the "100,000 km of Possibilities" expedition, a new Russian record was set for the longest car journey within the borders of one country along a unique route. The project participants covered 101,853 km, and the new record was included in the Book of Records of Russia, with the holding company "Cordiant" as the official partner of the expedition, providing technical support and monitoring the condition of the tires.
More than half of the route - 60,000 km - was covered by the participants on summer tires Cordiant Gravity, after which the cars were "re-shod" in winter studded Cordiant Snow Cross 2 (all tires were used in size 215/50 R17).
As noted in "Cordiant", the summer Gravity tires were developed specifically for Russian road conditions and long routes, and during the trip "stably demonstrated strong grip, handling and resistance to aquaplaning". In turn, Snow Cross 2, according to the manufacturer, confidently behaves on any types of winter surfaces, including ice, and allows easy escape from snow drifts.
"We were pleased to note that the Gravity team traveled the calculated 60,000 kilometers even in such difficult conditions, which confirms the high mileage of the tires, which showed themselves from the best side. If the participants had continued to move in warm climate zones, the tires would have gone even further - during the inspection of the kit before changing to winter tires at the next TO, we recorded that the remaining tread allowed it", said Ksenia Glinik, head of the passenger and light commercial tires department of the marketing department of Cordiant JSC.
According to her, the project not only confirmed the quality of the company's products but also allowed collecting valuable data on the behavior of tires in various conditions. "This information will be used by our engineers and developers to further improve the characteristics of future Cordiant tire lines", added Glinik.
The expedition participants traveled through 85 regions of the country in eight months, and during this time, 10,000 photos were taken and a series of documentary films about Russia was created.
"To make the record happen, we needed tires that meet three main criteria: reliability, safety, and comfort. And it's exactly these qualities that distinguish Cordiant tires. They didn't let us down throughout the entire journey! - noted the leader of the car expedition, Russian record holder in autosport Andrey Leontiev. - It's also important that this is a domestic product. Its excellent characteristics give confidence that Russia is indeed a country of possibilities".
