Magna Tyres has developed a new tyre for mobile cranes
Dutch company Magna Tyres has added new Magna M-Crane tires to its range, specifically designed for mobile cranes and, as the company claims, featuring increased strength and durability.
Compared to the previous generation of tires - Magna MA03+ - a number of characteristics have been improved, and, for example, the new three-layer design of the breaker belt has reduced tire deformability, which has increased stability, semi-closed shoulder areas have reduced uneven wear and heat generation, and reinforced sidewalls have reduced the risk of damage.
Magna M-Crane tires are also made from a new rubber compound that reduces heat generation by 5%, which has increased tensile strength and rupture resistance, and the optimized contact patch has improved stability and traction.
According to Magna, the increased tire life helps to reduce customer costs, with a limited warranty valid for five years, and overall, the new product "has premium features at a competitive price". In addition, the M-Crane is offered with some of the highest load and speed indices in its segment (170F and 178F in sizes 385/95 R25 and 445/95 R25 respectively) and can withstand up to 7500 kg at speeds of up to 80 km/h, which increases the level of safety and improves the efficiency of using mobile cranes.
"Today, customers need tires for mobile cranes that last longer, work more efficiently, and help reduce costs," said Hein de Vind, the company's commercial director. "Magna M-Crane is designed for the future: in its segment, it is the most reliable, strong, and economical tire on the market today".
According to Magna, the requirements for tires for mobile cranes are becoming increasingly high, and they must withstand increased loads, be suitable for complex road conditions, and also increase fuel efficiency, and "M-Crane is the answer to all these challenges".
The official premiere of the M-Crane will take place at the bauma 2025 exhibition, which will be held in Munich from April 7 to 13.
