"Cordiant" presented new generation truck tires
The new range of Cordiant Professional truck tires for regional transport was presented at the ComAutoTrans 2025 exhibition in Moscow, which included the Cordiant Professional FR-2 model for steering, DR-2 for driving and TR-3 for trailer axles in the most popular sizes with a mounting diameter of 22.5 inches.
The launch of mass production of new tires is planned for the second half of this year, and they will be produced at the Yaroslavl Tire Plant (YSHZ). The novelties will enter the market before the end of 2025 and during 2026, replenishing the already available Cordiant Professional line.
As noted by the General Director of Cordiant JSC, Vadim Volodin, "the new Cordiant Professional range confidently meets all the requirements of modern carriers and demonstrates characteristics at the level of premium brands. The models differ in increased mileage and improved characteristics, taking into account individual operating features".
Cordiant Professional FR-2 replaces the FR-1 model and "is designed to bring safety and efficiency indicators of steering tires to a new level". According to the manufacturer, thanks to the deep-tread lamellas, the tires can provide optimal handling at various degrees of tread wear, and special wear indicators allow for detecting uneven wear and preventing premature tire failure.
The tires will be available in sizes 315/80 R22.5, 385/65R22.5, 315/70 R22.5, 295/80 R22.5, and the last three will have increased load indices.
Cordiant Professional DR-2 for driving wheels comes to replace the DR-1 tires and, as the company says, can guarantee high traction on surfaces of different types, including asphalt, gravel, snow, and ice, and the Re-Cor technology was used - at 65% tread wear, transverse lamellas that enhance grip open, and thus the tires retain their effectiveness throughout their service life.
DR-2 tires will be produced in sizes 295/80 R22.5, 315/80 R22.5, and 315/70 R22.5.
Finally, the Cordiant Professional TR-3 trailer tire (the successor to the TR-2 model) is distinguished by an increased load index of 164 in size 385/65 R22.5, the only one in which it will be available, and is designed for use on roads of different quality, and due to the reinforced sidewalls, it has improved resistance to transverse loads or the so-called "drag" effect. The tires can be used, including on snow, as indicated by the 3PMSF marking, and the tread and upper layers of the breaker protect against damage to the grooves, which have a 3D geometry and are made using the Stone-Cor technology, i.e., their design is refined to repel stones.
