Kazakh tire plant has received a new name

The tire plant, located in the city of Saran, Karaganda region of Kazakhstan, and being a joint venture of the Russian PJSC "Tatneft" and the local GC "Allur", has completed the re-registration of the legal entity and was renamed to Tengri Tyres.

As noted in Tengri, when choosing a new name and logo, the goal was to "emphasize the history and culture of Kazakhstan". The word "Tengri" was taken from the mythology of the Turkic peoples and "means the spirit of strength and the image of a winner". The logo combines two significant symbols for Kazakhstan: the wolf and the Khan-Tengri mountain.

"The innovative and highly automated production now has a bright and strong name Tengri Tyres," said Radik Burganov, General Director of Tengri. "Here, Attar tires are produced according to leading world standards: the introduced 200% quality control of each tire guarantees car owners safe and comfortable vehicle operation."

In June 2024, the plant began serial production of budget passenger tires under the Attar brand, intended for both implementation in Kazakhstan and export to Russia and other countries. On September 16, the enterprise began supplying tires for the equipment of cars produced in Kazakhstan. The project capacity of Tengri is 3 million passenger and 500,000 truck tires, and the staff is planned to be increased from the current 600 to 1,100 people.

Earlier, the enterprise was called KamaTyresKZ, since it initially belonged to the tire group of "Tatneft" together with Kama Tyres, but in 2022, the Nizhnekamsk tire complex was sold to "Tatneftekhiminvest-holding". The Attar tires currently produced are identical in their designs to the models from the Nizhnekamsk company.

Now Tengri is part of the "Tire Business" direction of the "Tatneft" group together with Ikon Tyres (Russia) and Birinchi Rezinotexnika Zavodi (Uzbekistan).
