Kama Tyres and KITU will open a scientific and educational center
The tire complex Kama Tyres and Kazan National Research Technological University (KNRTU) signed a partnership agreement, under which a Science and Education Center (SEC) "Elastomer Recycling Technologies" will be opened on the basis of the Nizhnekamsk Chemical-Technological Institute (NCTI). The document was signed by the General Director of LLC "Tatshina" (the managing company of Kama Tyres) Igor Prokopyev and the Rector of KNRTU Yuri Kazakov.
"Preparing a high-quality specialist adapted to work in a modern enterprise without an industrial partner is simply impossible today," Kazakov said. "We are not only talking about investments in infrastructure, but also about 'human investments'. Representatives of enterprises must participate in the revision of educational programs, read lectures, and conduct high-quality workshops."
The project's "roadmap" is planned to be implemented over two years, and by the end of 2028, the partners intend to build a continuous education chain "school - institute - production".
"Such triple interaction will allow future school graduates and their parents to understand the level of modern training conditions and the demand for the profession," Prokopyev emphasized. "Youth will boldly look to the future, staying in their native Nizhnekamsk. For us, industrialists, it is important to receive well-prepared specialists. For the state - so that the enterprise works stably, producing high-quality products. And for the university - so that its graduates are in demand."
Both university teachers and Kama Tyres experts, primarily specialists from the scientific and technical center "Kama", will teach at the SEC. Currently, the issues of equipping the center and options for federal investment, grant receipt, and investment from the tire manufacturer itself are being worked out.
Feedback will also be provided, i.e., teachers will be able to undergo internships at production facilities, which should "link university theory with real management and technological process practice".
