How the Economy Affects Tire Purchases in 2026

Analysts of the "Autostat" agency decided to find out whether the economic situation in the country affected the decisions of drivers when buying summer tires in 2026, and it turned out that for the majority (56.3%), there was no impact. At the same time, 43.7% of respondents said that the situation matters, and 32% of them postponed the purchase of summer tires, while 22.7% decided to choose a cheaper option.

Another 6.6% stated that they have already bought or will buy a summer set on borrowed funds (borrowed money or took a loan) and the same number made the decision to purchase used tires instead of new ones. 3.6% of the surveyed said that they started using their cars less often to save their tires and not replace them this year.

For a part of car owners (28.5%), the economic situation became a reason to hurry up with the purchase of tires: more than 15% decided to rush considering a possible price increase, and more than 13% - to have time to find tires of the desired brand in stock.
