Ironman updates the All Country off-road lineup
American Tire Distributors (ATD) has introduced the new Ironman All Country AT-X tire, designed for use in any weather and road conditions, and replacing the All Country A/T and All Country AT2 models, released in 2016 and 2022, respectively.
ATD notes that the previous generation tires enjoyed stable popularity in the budget segment of off-road tires, with total sales reaching 700,000 units per year. "The new model will develop this success thanks to advanced modeling technologies and latest-generation rubber compounds, which have improved snow traction, wear resistance, and handling, while maintaining the high level of affordability and reliability that has always been inherent in Ironman products," the company added.
The All Country AT-X became the first Ironman off-road tires to receive the 3PMSF (three-peak mountain snowflake) marking, confirming their ability to guarantee high traction on snow-covered surfaces. The novelty features a tread pattern designed to improve the balance between good off-road capabilities, optimal on-asphalt handling, and extended service life, while the rubber compound is designed to ensure efficient operation in various weather conditions while maintaining the necessary strength. Additionally, the aggressive design of the shoulder blocks and sidewalls with additional mud catchers reduces the likelihood of punctures, and the profile has been optimized using new modeling technologies to improve stability, even wear, and durability of the new tires.
According to Keith Calvert, Director of Strategy for ATD's private brand division, the premiere of the All Country AT-X is significant for the brand's development, as the novelty, being both all-weather and all-terrain tires, "will allow drivers to feel confident in any conditions throughout the year".
The Ironman All Country AT-X will be available in sizes with a rim diameter from 15 to 20 inches, with a warranty mileage of 80,000 km. The tires will be offered with two tread patterns, and the 3PMSF marking has been awarded to both versions.
The Ironman brand is owned by Hercules Tires, which was acquired by ATD in 2014.
