The American company Hoosier Racing Tire (owned by Continental) initially specializes in the production of tires for motorsports, but not so long ago it was decided to use the existing developments to start mastering various segments of tires intended for ordinary drivers. The first product presented in accordance with the change in strategy was the summer tire Hoosier TrackAttack Pro of the Extreme Performance category, recently recognized as the best tire innovation of the year at the SEMA 2024 exhibition, where it was also announced that the company is preparing to release new tires designed for ATVs.

According to Hoosier's CEO and President, Jörg Burfien, the UTV tire sector is one of the fastest-growing in the North American market, and the novelty called Hoosier NemesisX, whose cost has not yet been determined, will, as planned by the company, belong to the premium segment.

As Burfien added, the two new tires for the first time in Hoosier's 65-year history received names in the form of words, not numbers, and this should indicate that the company is now focused not only on the motorsport segment but also on the consumer sector. He also noted that several years ago, Hoosier had already begun offering Continental ExtremeContact Force tires through its distribution channels, which, like the new TrackAttack Pro, belong to the Extreme Performance category. At the same time, Continental and Hoosier applied a different approach during development, and in the German concern, a product for the mass market was first created, which was then refined for the niche segment, while the American company used technologies intended for motorsports and adapted them to the requirements of the tire market, legal for public roads.

Details about the new UTV tires are not yet being disclosed by the company, noting only that they are designed for use in the most extreme off-road conditions. The tires will enter the market in March 2025 in five popular sizes, which should provide 80% market coverage. Five more sizes are planned to be presented in the following months. Currently, the company offers UTV tires designed for short-distance racing.

Hoosier has also developed special MonoRide tires for gyro scooters, which were also presented during SEMA. As Burfien told, it turned out that owners of monoboards buy Hoosier karting tires, which were initially intended for other purposes, so it was decided to present a product specifically for this segment, and it has already become quite popular.

The new tires are designed for use both in everyday life and during active leisure and are available in two versions: slick and with cut grooves. The production uses rubber compounds made using motorsport technologies, which, according to the company, provide increased strength and optimal grip on various types of surfaces. The tires entered the market in August 2024.

Hoosier does not forget about the main direction of its business, and at SEMA, new Hoosier DR3 tires were shown, designed for all categories of drag racing, where radial tires of size P275/60R15, approved by the US Department of Transportation (DOT), are required. The novelty replaces the DR2 model and is made from a special rubber compound that maximally increases grip and reduces the time required to warm up the tires. Hoosier DR3 will go on sale in the spring of 2025.
