Honda will replace tires on 1725 CR-V crossovers

Honda is conducting a recall campaign, under which tires will be replaced on 1,725 Honda CR-V crossovers manufactured between March 8 and April 22, 2024, according to a statement from the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

The reason for the recall is that the tires lack a 4-digit date code, meaning that if they are recalled from the market for safety reasons, the owner will not be able to identify them, creating a risk that a defective tire will continue to be used, increasing the likelihood of an accident.

Honda said that in the spring of 2024, during the assembly of cars, seven tires without a production date were found, after which the company contacted the supplier - Hankook, which confirmed the presence of the problem and reported it to the NHTSA. The recall affected all-season tires Hankook Kinergy GT H436 in size 235/60 R18, produced at the plant in Clarksville (Tennessee, USA).
