Hankook made its WRC debut as an exclusive tire supplier

The Korean company Hankook has successfully completed its first stage of the World Rally Championship (WRC) as the sole tire supplier. The season traditionally started with the Monte Carlo Rally, which is known for its unpredictable conditions, featuring a combination of snow, ice, dry and wet surfaces.

This year, participants covered a total of 1630 km over four days, and Sébastien Ogier won the WRC1 class, becoming the best in Monte Carlo for a record tenth time.

Hankook provided tires for asphalt and snow/ice for the first race of the season, and, as the company notes, all tires received high praise from drivers and official representatives of the series, as they "demonstrated exceptional grip and durability, ensuring excellent handling even in the most severe winter conditions".

Starting from the 2025 season, Hankook will supply tires for all WRC classes for the next three years. To ensure that the tires are optimally suited for the World Championship, the company has been testing since 2023 in eight countries, and drivers have covered over 2000 km on tires that were eventually certified by the FIA.

In the 2025 season, the WRC will consist of 14 stages, which will take place from January to November in 16 countries. The second stage, the Rally Sweden, will take place from 13 to 16 February, and this race is unique in that all its routes are completely covered with snow and ice.
