Giti starts sales of new all-season tires
The company Giti announced that new all-season tires GT Radial ClimateActive are officially entering the European market, available in over 90 sizes with a rim diameter from 15 to 21 inches, allowing them to cover more than 90% of the target segment of tires for passenger cars and crossovers.
ClimateActive will be offered along with the GT Radial 4Seasons tires, which will continue to be produced in 13-14 inch sizes for small cars, and the manufacturer claims that the new product has reduced rolling resistance, and the performance on wet roads has been improved by 15%, which allowed it to receive an "A" rating in the EU labeling system. Additionally, experts from Giti's European Technical Center in Hanover, Germany, have achieved an increase in wear resistance of more than 10%, which, in particular, reduces the load on the environment.
The company noted that the main feature of ClimateActive is the balance between traction in soft winter conditions, performance on wet and dry asphalt, as well as a long service life, and from the very beginning of development, current trends in the automotive market, namely its electrification, were taken into account, and the new product became the first all-season tire of the brand to receive the EV Ready marking, indicating that it is adapted for operation on both gasoline and electric vehicles in all sizes.
GT Radial ClimateActive have already participated in independent tests, and last year, the German magazine Auto Bild rated them "Good", and experts noted that the tires have a very short braking distance on snow, as well as good handling on dry and wet surfaces. Additionally, in many disciplines, GT Radial was able to outperform more expensive premium products from well-known brands in terms of points. The tires were tested in size 225/50 R17 using a BMW 3-Series.
"GT Radial ClimateActive embodies the latest technological achievements of our engineers and is a balanced and reliable product that is comparable, and in some parameters surpasses, premium-class tires," said Fabio Pecci-Boriani, Deputy General Manager of Giti's European Technical Center, responsible for planning the range of tires for passenger and light commercial vehicles. "The 'Good' rating from Auto Bild confirms the effectiveness of the tires, and the first sales of ClimateActive were also excellent, and many customers highly appreciated the new product and left enthusiastic reviews about it."
ClimateActive was designed at the Hanover technical center, and testing was carried out at the MIRA complex in the UK, as well as at test sites in Germany and Spain.
