Firestone (owned by Bridgestone) has introduced the new summer tire Firestone Vanhawk 3, designed for light commercial vehicles and adapted for use on electric vehicles.

The new model replaces the Firestone Vanhawk 2, introduced in 2016, and surpasses its predecessor in terms of durability, fuel/energy efficiency, and braking performance on wet roads.

According to the manufacturer, the new tires have a 13% longer lifespan, while rolling resistance has been reduced by 10%, and wet braking performance has improved by 13%. As a result, the new tires have achieved a "B" rating in the EU labeling system for wet surface performance and a "B/C" rating for economy.

The Firestone Vanhawk 3 features the Enliten technology package, which has increased the lifespan of the tires due to the increased tread depth, while the new rubber compound has improved wear resistance. Economy has been improved by reducing energy losses due to compound modification, while the optimized tread pattern has enhanced wet grip.

"The Firestone Vanhawk 3 is designed for those who use vans in their professional or private lives and want to buy reliable and economical tires," said Stefano Sanchini, Vice President of Bridgestone's EMEA division. "Thanks to Enliten technology, we have taken the best from Vanhawk 2, namely fuel efficiency, durability, and good handling in rainy weather, and significantly improved all these parameters."

The new tires were developed in Europe and will be available in sizes with diameters from 15 to 17 inches, covering more than 95% of the local market. Sales will start in January 2025.
