The BYD Seal U electric crossover has been equipped with Continental tires
Chinese company BYD has included Continental PremiumContact C tires with a diameter of 19 inches in the factory equipment of the electric Seal U crossover. The letter "C" in the name means Comfort, i.e., the tires were created with an emphasis on improving ride comfort and reducing noise levels, which is especially important for electric vehicles equipped with quiet powertrains.
The tread features special noise breakers that reduce the amplitude of the sound wave, reducing noise, while the rounded contact patch increases the efficiency of shock absorption, including at high speeds.

Another factor, especially important when using tires on electric vehicles, is rolling resistance, which affects range, and PremiumContact C tires are made using a compound with a high silica content, which reduces energy losses during tire rolling and increases the distance the vehicle can travel without recharging. Additionally, the rubber compound recipe has also increased the tire's lifespan.
"Continental developers have been optimizing tires for over ten years to provide lower rolling resistance, reduced noise, and longer service life without compromising safety-relevant characteristics," says Continental. "All Continental tires are suitable for use on electric vehicles and can reduce harmful emissions from vehicles with internal combustion engines. Last year, the five most successful electric vehicle manufacturers in the Asia-Pacific region fitted Continental tires to their models."
BYD Seal U is equipped with Continental tires "in many countries around the world", and the tires have been homologated in the 235/50 R19 size.
