Continental releases new tires for long-haul transportation

The Continental company has released new fuel-efficient tires for long-haul transportation on the US market, which combine reduced rolling resistance with increased durability, allowing fleets to reduce their operating costs.

Thanks to the new rubber compound, rolling resistance has been reduced by 10% compared to tires of the previous generation, and the novelty has received the SmartWay environmental certificate from the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). In addition, the optimized tread pattern has reduced the likelihood of stone trapping, and resistance to cuts and punctures has been increased by 15%, and the carcass is made using 3D Casing technology, which reduces heat generation and improves the ride and retreadability of the tires.

"The Conti HDL 3 EP tire was developed with the needs of fleets in mind and has a number of advantages, from maximum retreadability to improved economy and even wear," said Sean Uy, head of the US branch of Continental's truck tires for the aftermarket. "This is a premium product designed to help fleets reduce their costs."

The new tires have been released in the 295/75 R22.5 size, and by the first quarter of 2025, additional sizes are planned to be introduced and supplies to vehicle manufacturers are scheduled to begin.
