Continental has added a novelty to the SportContact range
Continental has added a new model, the SportContact 7 Force, to its SportContact family — a summer tire in the Ultra-Ultra-High-Performance (UUHP) category, which has been included in the equipment of the recently presented supercar Bodo by the German tuning studio Brabus, with which the tire concern has been cooperating for over 25 years.
The basis for the creation of the novelty was the repeatedly winning Continental SportContact 7 in independent tests, and the manufacturer claims that the tire is designed to provide maximum control on roads and racing tracks, and its exclusive versions for Brabus have the BB marking on the sidewalls.
The tread pattern of the SportContact 7 Force is designed to make the tires respond quickly to steering wheel turns, maintaining control and sensitivity of handling at high speeds, and the company adds that the tires behave predictably when rearranging, as well as providing good directional stability and stable traction during braking and acceleration on a racing track.
"By releasing the SportContact 7 Force, we are taking the characteristics of our most successful UUHP tire to the next level and making it even more sporty," said Marian Grassman, Senior Tire Developer at Continental. — The combination of an adaptive pattern, a modified Harmonized BlackChili rubber compound, and a design refined with regard to the specific features of a particular car guarantees high accuracy of reactions to steering wheel turns, stability, and controllability in extreme conditions. We wanted the tires to be suitable for both the racing track and everyday life, and the novelty has become the first tire to receive the Brabus homologation symbol, which speaks to its exclusivity."
As part of their partnership, Continental and Brabus create tires with constructions, rubber compound compositions, aerodynamic characteristics, etc., adapted to the sports cars offered by the tuner, and the production of tires for Bodo continues this tradition, noted in Continental.
According to Brabus Technical Director Jörn Gander, Bodo is "an example of modern tuning of the highest level, and this applies to the smallest details". "Together with Continental, we have created exclusive tires that perfectly combine efficiency, control, and sporty character, while the BB marking on the sidewalls indicates that the tires were developed to order and are not a compromise solution," he added.
Brabus Bodo was created based on the Aston Martin Vanquish and named after the company's founder, Bodo Buschmann, and the Continental tires are installed on the supercar in sizes 275/35ZR21 at the front and 325/30ZR21 at the rear. Currently, the company is developing the SportContact 7 Force for other sports cars.
