Bridgestone releases a new port tire
Bridgestone introduced a new tire, the Bridgestone V-Steel Container Lifter G-Smooth (VCLG), size 18.00R25, specifically designed for use on port and industrial equipment, and, as the manufacturer claims, features increased thermal resistance, load capacity, and service life (compared to the previous generation of Bridgestone VCHS tires).
"We are pleased to introduce the new port tire VCLG to the market, made using innovative technologies," said Rob Seibert, president of Bridgestone's OTR tire division in the USA and Canada. "Considering the unique requirements for tires in the port sector, VCLG has been specially adapted to the characteristics of the latest generation of reach stackers and reduces the likelihood of downtime."

Bridgestone also notes that port tires occupy a significant place in the company's range, as, for example, in the USA, there are 300 ports through which approximately 1.6 billion tons of international cargo worth $2.3 trillion are transported annually.
Tires for port equipment are produced under the Bridgestone and Firestone brands and are used on container handlers, portal cranes, automated guided vehicles (AGVs), and more. Not so long ago, a radial tire, the Bridgestone V-Steel Port Container Straddle (VPCS), was also introduced in this segment, specifically designed for portal cranes. In addition to tire products, the company offers real-time tire condition monitoring solutions that enable increased equipment efficiency and reduced hourly operating costs.
