The Tokyo headquarters of Bridgestone Corporation has named Yoshiyuki Morimoto as the Executive Chairman of Bridgestone Americas Inc. Very soon, the new leader will replace Asahiko Nishiyama, who will also be reassigned, on this post.
He will be transferred to the position of Vice Chairman of Bridgestone as part of the International Olympic Committee. Additionally, Asahiko Nishiyama will receive the position of Senior Vice President for Business Cycle Development and Product Improvement at the company. The personnel changes will take effect on March 24.
As for Morimoto, he will also hold two positions simultaneously. In addition to working at Bridgestone Americas, he will continue to perform his duties as Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of Bridgestone Corp. This choice is quite justified.

Morimoto has devoted more than three decades to the tire company. Since 2012, he has also been a member of Bridgestone's board. Now, the entire production process, as well as the sales and advertising of tire products under the Bridgestone and Firestone brands in North and South America, will be under his control. With this task, the person who has been at the forefront of all Bridgestone's achievements will surely cope with ease.

There is no information on what the personnel changes are related to. The Bridgestone Americas Inc. office has a permanent location in Nashville. Nishiyama, who headed it, has been the Executive Chairman of Bridgestone Americas since 2014. During his 28-year career with the company, he has spent most of his time working in the international division. Now, he will have a wider range of powers.
