Bridgestone introduced new semi-slicks

Bridgestone has launched new semi-slick tyres, the Bridgestone Potenza Race R, which were unveiled at the 2026 automotive event The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, as original equipment for the Lamborghini Revuelto SV (Super Veloce) supercar also presented at the event.

The new tyres have been developed primarily for track use, combining a rubber compound derived from motorsport technologies with an aggressive tread pattern designed to maximize dry grip and improve handling at high speeds. Special attention was also paid to ensuring the semi-slicks warm up quickly and maintain their performance characteristics over many laps, “unlocking incredible track capabilities for Revuelto SV owners.” At the same time, the new tyre is fully road-legal.

The Revuelto SV is powered by a hybrid V12 engine and is the fastest and most powerful production supercar ever made by the Italian brand, capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.4 seconds, with a top speed exceeding 345 km/h.

According to Adrien Tormann, Director of OE Sales at Bridgestone’s European division, “this is the perfect car to showcase the capabilities of our new tyres.” “In 2023, Lamborghini selected Bridgestone as the exclusive tyre supplier for the Revuelto, its first hybrid V12 super sports car, and three years later, the upcoming Revuelto SV will again be equipped exclusively with our tyres,” he added.

In addition to the Potenza Race R, buyers can also choose the Potenza Sport tyres, which are more oriented toward everyday driving and, according to the manufacturer, enhance steering precision on both dry and wet surfaces. A Run-Flat version is available, allowing continued driving for up to 80 km at speeds up to 80 km/h in the event of a puncture.

A special version of the winter tyre Bridgestone Blizzak LM005 has also been developed, and all tyres feature unique markings indicating they were specifically created for Lamborghini. The tyres are fitted on the supercar in sizes 265/35ZR20 (99Y) at the front and 345/30ZR21 (111Y) at the rear, with both development and production taking place in Italy.

“The Super Veloce designation reflects extreme performance characteristics perfectly embodied in the new Revuelto SV,” said Alessandro Farmeschi, Revuelto Product Line Director. “Every aspect has been optimized—from aerodynamics and power delivery to specially developed Bridgestone tyres perfectly matched to the car’s exceptional capabilities.”

The tyres for the Revuelto SV were developed using Bridgestone’s patented Virtual Tyre Development (VTD) simulation technology, which enhances both efficiency and sustainability in the development process, reducing raw material consumption and CO2 emissions by 60%.

Bridgestone and Lamborghini have been collaborating since 2021, when tyres were developed for the Huracán STO, and the company has since become the tyre supplier for other Lamborghini supercars, including the Revuelto, Temerario, and Fenomeno.
