Bridgestone recalls over a thousand trailer tires

The American division of Bridgestone is recalling 1185 Bridgestone R123 Ecopia trailer tires in size 295/75 R22.5, manufactured at the Lavergne, Tennessee plant during the 35th week of 2024.

The reason for the recall is that during the manufacturing process, one of the three stabilizing layers of the belt package was incorrectly installed on 24 tires from the recalled batch, which creates a risk of tire failure, potentially leading to an accident, as reported by the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

It is reported that at maximum pressure, "bulging" of the central zone of the tread may be observed, which can also lead to excessive and/or uneven wear. It was this bulging shape of the tread that prompted one of Bridgestone's customers to notify the company of a possible defect in February 2025.

All tires will be replaced free of charge.
