Russian drivers prefer studded tires of domestic brands
In winter, Russian motorists prefer studded tires from domestic brands, and on average, a set of tires is purchased for 24,000 rubles, reports TASS, citing a study by "Avito".
As part of the survey conducted by the service's analysts, 63% of car owners stated that they use studded tires in winter, while another 21% prefer friction models, and 7% of respondents use all-season tires.
The most in-demand were tires from Russian manufacturers, such as Cordiant and Kama, - 38% of the surveyed named them. 29% of the survey participants stated that they choose tires from European brands, such as Continental, Michelin and Pirelli, and 27% prefer Japanese brands, such as Bridgestone and Yokohama. Korean brands were mentioned as preferred by 15% of respondents, American - by 7%, and Chinese - by only 5%. The study refers to both new and used tires, Avito clarifies.
According to the survey, almost half of the motorists (47%) change their tires every two to three years, and 43% said they wait until the old ones wear out enough. 8% of drivers change their tires every season, mostly young people (18-24 years old).
