Apollo launches new strategy in the truck tire market

Apollo Tyres, which recently confirmed the cessation of truck tire production in Hungary and its relocation to India, announced that the new strategy will allow expanding the range of tires of this type and increasing the volume of products available to European fleets. Thus, by the end of 2026, the TBR tire lineup will include models and sizes that will enable the company to increase its market coverage of truck and bus tires to 80%. 

The tires will be produced at a facility in India, which Apollo calls a "state-of-the-art mega-factory" with a capacity of 5.5 million units per year, and production "already meets the high quality standards familiar to European consumers". 

Next year, Apollo intends to add new tires for mega-trailers and tractor leading axles to its range, as well as update popular models such as Apollo EnduRace and Apollo EnduTrax, and the company indicates that the relocation of production will allow for faster development of the product line. 

Apollo will also continue to invest in its European research and development center in Enschede (Netherlands), including the development of new concepts and prototype testing. In addition, two new technical service departments have been created, the first of which will provide primary support to customers, and the second will work "in the field", helping consumers in case of need. 

"The change in our production strategy is significant, as it will improve our ability to serve customers across Europe," said Yves Pouliquen, Vice President of the Apollo Truck Tires division in EMEA. "By combining the latest production facilities in India with our technological resources in Europe, we will ensure continuous innovation in truck tires, improve product availability, and guarantee service standards at the level that our customers expect".

Apollo emphasizes that the company's truck tires are "known for their exceptional characteristics, durability, and price-quality ratio". "Thanks to the focus on increasing tread life, wear resistance, retreadability, and fuel efficiency, the tires have become an excellent option for fleets and equipment manufacturers," the company concluded.
