Apollo releases new specialty truck tire
Apollo Tyres has introduced new all-steel radial tires Apollo Terra MPT 1 for multifunctional trucks that operate both on asphalt and off-road. The premiere of the novelty took place at the IAA Transportation exhibition, which is currently being held in Hannover (Germany).
The new tires, which have a tread pattern with improved self-cleaning ability, are optimally suited for use on vehicles of road and fire services, as well as in the military sector, but they can also be installed, for example, on motorhomes. Production is carried out at a plant in Chennai, and in all sizes, the tires have the M+S marking, which confirms their effectiveness off-road (at the same time, there is no snowflake symbol, which means that the tires have not been tested on snow). In addition, special attention has been paid to increasing resistance to cuts and other damage when in contact with sharp objects off-road, and the tires are also suitable for regrooving.

Apollo Terra MPT 1 have a reinforced radial construction, which, according to the manufacturer, provides optimal strength and stability when driving on inclined surfaces and various types of coverage, including stones, soil, and sand, while also improving comfort when driving on asphalt. The tires are also suitable for use with centralized tire inflation systems.
The release of the Terra MPT 1 is of great importance in terms of diversifying our range of tires for special equipment," noted Goydo Burkamp, head of the OTR tire department at Apollo in Europe, adding that the premiere of the new tires also speaks to "our desire to continuously master new innovations and meet the needs of buyers of tires for industrial and construction equipment".

Terra MPT 1 will go on sale worldwide in the first quarter of 2025 in three sizes: 365/85 R20, 365/80 R20, and 405/70 R20 with speed indices J and K (up to 100 and 110 km/h, respectively).
