They contain very massive blocks, the rigidity of which was additionally enhanced by the transverse arrangement and a trapezoidal shape in the side projection. Such features allowed for faster transmission of lateral acceleration forces to the steering wheel, giving the handling process quickness and accuracy. The massive size of the shoulder blocks increases the contact patch area, which improved traction. At the same time, high transverse edges provide high efficiency when slowing down on snow.
Multi-radius tread profile
In the side projection, the tread has a variable curvature. It increases the width of the contact patch, ensuring even distribution of load across it. This enhances the traction properties, making them stable, and also prevents uneven wear, increasing the lifespan of the tire.
