Description Satoya Samurai 3
The Satoya Samurai 3 winter tire is designed primarily for budget-friendly small-class passenger cars. Nevertheless, its belonging to the economy class is evident mainly in its attractive cost. The use of high-performance technical solutions and modern materials has allowed this model to possess excellent operational properties, including, of course, traction on snow and ice.
10 rows of studs
The scheme for arranging studs on the tread of this tire is the result of using modern digital technologies in its development. Modern computer-aided modeling tools allow them to form up to 10 continuous "anti-skid chains" when in contact with the road. Thanks to this, the developers were able to achieve very reliable and stable traction on ice and compacted snow.
Increased resistance to slushplaning
A significant portion of the drainage grooves are located on the tread almost transversely, at a very small angle relative to the direction of movement. At the same time, all transverse grooves are distinguished by significant width and depth. The combination of such design features gives the tire decent resistance to slushplaning due to the fact that its contact patch is quickly cleared of meltwater and snow slush.
In this regard, it is impossible not to note the presence of additional transverse grooves on the shoulder blocks. These tread elements form very long traction edges, providing the tire with increased passability in deep snow.
Excellent directional stability
Like the shoulder zones, the central part of the tread is made in an open design. It contains many individual blocks grouped into two wide longitudinal ribs. Each of them is a continuous element thanks to the presence of special bridges between the blocks. At the same time, their faces and the slats cut into them are located at a sufficiently large angle, which, on the one hand, improves directional stability and handling, and on the other hand, reduces rolling resistance and stability of traction properties when cornering.
Key features of the Satoya Samurai 3 winter tire
- a directed tread pattern increases the efficiency of the tire on any winter surfaces;
- reliable traction on ice and compacted snow, thanks to the numerous lamellas, as well as studs that form 10 continuous longitudinal rows when in contact;
- stability of traction properties even in the most unfavorable road and weather conditions, thanks to the wide transverse grooves between the blocks of the shoulder zones, effectively removing meltwater and snow slush from the contact patch;
- rigid bridges between the blocks of the central part give the formed longitudinal ribs increased stiffness and resistance to dynamic deformation, which, in turn, improves directional stability and handling.
