Description Orium 601
The Orium 601 winter tire is designed for compact and mid-size passenger cars. It is offered in several dozen sizes for wheels with a rim diameter of 13 to 18 inches. It features improved handling on snow, ice, and wet pavement, as well as resistance to aquaplaning and slushplaning.
Handling on slippery surfaces
The tire's tread features a fairly open V-shaped design with a large number of blocks. During movement, they form numerous sharp edges. Due to their multidirectional arrangement, good handling is ensured on any slippery surface.
Confident behavior in difficult conditions
A distinctive feature of the tread is the increased size of the drainage grooves. The longitudinal ones serve as accumulators, from which water is directed outward through a branched network of transverse channels. Their width is sufficient to divert a mixture of water, snow, and dirt from the contact patch.
Increased lamellization density
Despite the absence of studs, the tire demonstrates good efficiency on icy and snowy surfaces. This is due to the presence of a large number of lamellas, located at a distance of a few millimeters from each other. The number of edges formed by them runs into thousands. At the same time, their wavy shape limits the transverse mobility of the blocks, which, in addition to traction on ice, provides fast and accurate reactions of the tire to the driver's actions.
Main features:
- good handling on slippery surfaces due to a tread with a large number of blocks;
- resistance to aquaplaning and slushplaning is provided by wide longitudinal and lateral grooves;
- an increased number of lamellas improves traction on wet, rolled snow, and ice.
