The non-studded version of the winter tire Nexen Winguard WinSpike WS62 SUV is designed for use in regions with very cold climates. It stands out with improved traction properties on dry and wet surfaces, as well as in snow, and is distinguished by much greater acoustic comfort and smoothness of ride compared to the studded model.
The tread pattern is made in a directional design with a V-shaped arrangement of drainage grooves. This layout guarantees high intensity of water discharge from under the tire, as well as its mixture with snow and road dirt, ensuring reliable handling in adverse weather conditions. Another important feature is the design of the central part, which is essentially a very wide continuous longitudinal rib with numerous arrow-shaped "protrusions". This solution provides excellent directional stability and steering accuracy on dry surfaces, while reducing rolling resistance and wear due to the uniform mechanical stiffness of this part of the tread. It's worth noting the presence of several thousand 3D lamellas, which almost completely offset the absence of studs in this model, allowing for intense acceleration and braking on icy surfaces. Their effectiveness is largely ensured by the rubber compound, which, in addition to "silica", contains special polymers that not only enhance traction on winter surfaces but also prevent rapid abrasive wear of the tread.
Main features of Nexen Winguard WinSpike WS62 SUV (Non-Studded)
- optimized drainage groove design provides reliable handling in adverse weather conditions;
- wide arrow-shaped rib, occupying almost the entire central part of the tread, improves performance on dry roads, preventing wear and reducing fuel consumption;
- several thousand "three-dimensional" lamellas increase the intensity of braking on icy surfaces
