Description Mitas C-15
The Mitas C-15 motorcycle tire is designed for installation on the front wheels of motocross motorcycles. The tread pattern of this model is optimized for use on soft, unstable soils. Another feature of this tire is the lack of DOT and EN certificates, which does not allow it to be used for movement on public roads, like many motocross motorcycles, whose main "habitat" is off-road. It is there that the C-15 demonstrates all its best qualities, of which there are many.
Original tread pattern design
One of the features of this model, which provided it with a number of beneficial advantages, is the tread pattern. It is best suited for use on sandy and earthy soils containing a lot of moisture. These qualities are provided by the block structure and the great depth of the tread pattern.
It contains many individual blocks of quadrangular shape, which are distributed over several functional zones - central and shoulder parts. The central part of the Mitas C-15 consists of two longitudinal rows formed from individual elements. During movement, they form a multitude of sharp edges, located in various directions, which allows the tire to demonstrate excellent directional stability and a short braking distance on a straight line.
In turn, the shoulder zones also contain many individual blocks, but they are arranged in a different way - in a checkerboard pattern. This structure allows for much better distribution of external pressure on the contact patch, which, moreover, remains unchanged regardless of the angle of inclination of the motorcycle. As a result, it becomes much easier to handle.
Main features of the Mitas C-15 tire
- the tire was specially created for use on motocross motorcycles in off-road conditions;
- excellent directional stability on straight lines and a short braking distance, thanks to the large number of quadrangular blocks in the central part;
- the symmetrical non-directional tread pattern is optimized for use on soft earthy and sandy soils, demonstrating excellent performance in these conditions;
- the large distance between the blocks allows the tread to self-clean even from very large foreign objects and soil particles.
