Michelin X-Ice Snow+

Winter non-studded tire Michelin X-Ice Snow+ is designed for passenger cars, crossovers, and SUVs operated in severe winter conditions. The model continues the X-Ice Snow family, combining a directional tread pattern with the new Flex-Ice 3.0 rubber compound and MaxTouch load distribution technology. Key focus is placed on snow and ice grip, braking performance on cold asphalt, and extended tread life.

Flex-Ice 3.0 Rubber Compound

One of the key updates is the tread compound. Flex-Ice 3.0 is engineered to maintain elasticity at low temperatures, allowing the tread surface to maintain closer contact with the road. This is particularly important when driving across alternating icy patches, compacted snow, and cold wet asphalt. According to the manufacturer, the updated compound improves braking performance on winter surfaces, as well as on wet and dry roads, compared to the previous generation.

Directional Tread Pattern

The tread pattern features a V-shaped design. Angled tread blocks create numerous biting edges, while grooves between them help evacuate water and slush from the contact patch. This helps maintain traction on snow-covered roads and stability when driving through slush. Additional edges from numerous sipes further enhance grip on slippery surfaces. As a result, the tread combines strong snow acceleration performance with lateral stability on icy sections.

Extended Tread Life with MaxTouch Technology

MaxTouch technology optimizes the contact patch and distributes forces evenly during acceleration, braking, and cornering. This reduces the risk of uneven tread wear and contributes to longer tread life. Additionally, the rubber compound is designed to reduce rolling resistance. This minimizes energy loss during driving, making the tire suitable for hybrids and electric vehicles.

Acoustic Comfort

The tire features Piano Acoustic Tuning technology. The size and arrangement angles of tread blocks are tuned to reduce rolling noise. This solution is effective on both new and partially worn tread, maintaining acoustic comfort during everyday driving. Thus, the tire's adaptation to harsh winter conditions goes hand in hand with enhanced comfort on paved roads.
