Description Michelin Pilot Alpin
The Michelin Pilot Alpin winter tire was specifically designed for operation in the unstable weather conditions of European winters, which are characterized by high humidity and frequent temperature fluctuations throughout the day. This model provides a high level of safety when driving on snowy roads at high speeds.
Taking into account the specific operating conditions, the French tire manufacturers carefully selected the composition of the rubber mixture, adding special components to it. In addition, this model is equipped with a design of a symmetrical tread pattern, featuring a large number of stiffness ribs, as well as numerous blocks and grooves. At the same time, on the surface of all tread pattern elements of the Michelin Pilot Alpin tire, lamellas of a new design were placed, which significantly increase the stiffness of the tread blocks during longitudinal acceleration. Due to this solution, it was possible to significantly improve the braking efficiency on any type of coverage.
The design of the shoulder areas of the tread also took into account the conditions of application of this tire. To provide better transverse stability and traction with loose or compacted snow cover, the shoulder areas were equipped with wide blocks of rectangular shape. And on their surface, zigzag lamellas were placed.
Thanks to the large number of blocks in the central part of the tread, it was possible to ensure high efficiency of the drainage system, which perfectly copes with the removal of water, as well as meltwater. In addition, the large number of blocks located at a small distance from each other contributes to a more even distribution of load across the contact patch, making the car's behavior more stable and reliable.
Main features of Michelin Pilot Alpin
- excellent traction and coupling characteristics on any type of coverage, thanks to the optimized design of the symmetrical directional tread pattern;
- a multitude of lamellas of original design made it possible to significantly improve traction with an icy surface;
- excellent efficiency of the drainage system provides excellent resistance to aquaplaning.
