The Gripmax Status Pro Winter tire, designed for crossovers and SUVs, is a prime example of a high-quality product with excellent characteristics offered at a low price. This model is distinguished by its good traction properties, long service life, and high reliability.
Composite blocks in the center
The longitudinal rib running exactly along the center of the tread is made in the popular "modular" design. It consists of composite arrow-shaped blocks, which are divided into two equal areas, but have a polygonal shape. This increases the number of traction edges in the contact patch. Additionally, the blocks are arranged at an angle, which improves directional stability and longitudinal traction properties while reducing rolling resistance and the risk of low-frequency resonance noise.
Another feature of the center tread design is the arrangement of blocks relative to similar elements in the shoulder areas. It is designed to create a continuation of the traction edges formed in the central part, all the way to the sidewalls of the tire. This has significantly improved the tire's effectiveness during acceleration and braking, especially on snowy surfaces.
"Micro-pumps"
The entire tread of the tire is not only covered with lamellas but also features special holes located next to them. These "micro-pumps" are special cavities with a droplet-like shape that absorb the water film from the icy or wet road surface, drying the contact area of the tire. This significantly enhances the effect of the tread adhering to smooth, glass-like surfaces, improving traction.
Lamellas with "blockers"
The aforementioned lamellas are characterized by a high density, which was achieved largely due to their progressive design. Their walls have a three-dimensional structure that fixes them in the open position when in contact with the road. They are equipped with special "blockers," additional notches. The function of these elements is to limit the mobility of the block across its entire area. This positively affects the precision of handling, rolling resistance, and traction under the influence of lateral acceleration forces. At the same time, the longitudinal traction properties are ensured at the highest level. Most of the lamellas are directed transversely, which, in combination with their large number, allows the tire to demonstrate confident behavior during acceleration and braking.
Key features of Gripmax Status Pro Winter
- Composite blocks in the central part provide stable traction properties on snow, reducing rolling resistance;
- Special droplet-shaped cavities, working like pumps, dry the contact patch, absorbing moisture from the surface, ensuring improved traction on wet and icy surfaces;
- Numerous lamellas with blockers provide the tire with reliability and stability when driving on ice, while improving handling on dry surfaces;
- Effective fight against slushplaning due to the large width and inclined arrangement of transverse drainage grooves
