The Goodyear Wrangler SR-A tire is designed for SUVs and crossovers. It is intended for use throughout the year and therefore features improved traction properties on slippery roads from water and snow.
Zigzag grooves
The tire's performance on snow and ice is largely ensured by the increased content of traction edges in the tread. Most of them are formed not by blocks, but by lamellas cut into them. Their zigzag shape further enhances traction and, by limiting the mobility of the blocks, improves handling.
Improved traction on wet surfaces
The tread pattern is saturated with drainage grooves. They are located both longitudinally and transversely. This minimizes the risk of aquaplaning at almost any speed, thereby ensuring even greater reliability of traction properties on wet surfaces.
Stability in turns
The lateral side of the shoulder blocks contains special grooves, which, due to the unusualness of such a solution, have their own name - TredLock. The essence of the technology is to form additional edges when significant lateral accelerations occur. In sharp turns, the tire grips the road better, maintaining stability against skidding.
Main features of the Goodyear Wrangler SR-A tire
- numerous zigzag grooves improve traction on snow and ice, especially when accelerating and braking;
- minimal risk of aquaplaning at almost any speed is ensured by the large number and multidirectional arrangement of water-dispelling grooves;
- stability in turns thanks to TredLock lamellas on the lateral surface of the shoulder blocks.
