Goodyear UltraGrip 400 – a tire from an American manufacturer that has already become a classic in its segment. The model is designed for operation on a wide range of passenger cars during the winter period, providing a high level of safety, stability of driving characteristics on snowy and icy road sections, as well as minimizing the likelihood of skidding. All this was achieved through the use of not only high-quality raw materials, but also multi-stage testing, including in field conditions.
The directional tread of the tire is formed by numerous block structures separated by channels. This structural solution made it possible to implement several functions at once. Firstly, it is an increase in grip due to the abundance of edges that, like "claws", dig into loose snow, increasing the stability of the vehicle. Secondly, the extensive system of channels formed by them is able to cope with large volumes of moisture and slush. This factor has a positive effect on maintaining traction and towing characteristics. To this, we should add the use of studs located at key points of the contact patch. Due to them, it was possible to increase the safety of driving on icy pavement. In turn, their small size does not contribute to the appearance of significant noise effects when moving on clean asphalt.
The strong points of the model also include a high degree of adaptability to low-temperature modes. This was achieved through the use of a compound with polymer additives and a significant percentage of silicon dioxide. The result is the preservation of elasticity even at extremely low temperatures.
