The Goodyear Eagle Ventura summer tire is, to some extent, a logical continuation of the Aquatred, presented by the North American manufacturer back in 1998. This model was released several years later, and its design incorporated most of the technologies used in the famous predecessor. Like it, this model had a significant impact on shaping Goodyear's image as a manufacturer of so-called "rain" tires.
V-Tread Tread
This model was one of the first to use the V-Tread directed tread technology, which has been successfully used by the American manufacturer to this day. Its essence lies in the characteristic V-shaped arrangement of the tread elements, typical of Goodyear tires. This forms a large number of very long grip edges at a significant angle to the direction of movement, achieving a balance between rolling resistance, aquaplaning resistance, and grip properties. And each of these operational characteristics is at a very high level, which determined the excellent efficiency of this model, both on dry and wet roads.
Synthetic Cord Breaker
At the time of the release of this model, the design of most tires was based on a carcass made entirely of steel cord. Goodyear engineers used a new solution at the time, applying a breaker made of nylon cord. The use of a synthetic material with high mechanical strength made it possible to significantly reduce the weight of the tire, which had a positive effect on its handling.
Wide Shoulder Zones
Another solution that Goodyear has been using for several decades is the reinforced design of the tread shoulder zones. In this case, it contains wide transverse blocks. Due to their rigid design, the shoulder blocks provide excellent handling during maneuvering, and due to the formed transverse edges, they provide excellent braking efficiency.
Key Features of the Goodyear Eagle Ventura Tire
- V-Tred directed tread pattern technology provides an ideal balance between aquaplaning resistance, stability, and reliable grip properties when driving at high speeds, rolling resistance, giving the tire excellent performance in any conditions;
- excellent handling stability thanks to wide shoulder zones with numerous transverse blocks;
- a breaker made of nylon cord reduces the weight of the tire without compromising its carrying capacity and resistance to dynamic deformation, which has a positive effect on handling.
